Best times to visit

Early mornings and late afternoons are the best slots. In summer, the park gets busier in the afternoon. Off-season, you'll often have it to yourself. Thanks to the lighting, evening sessions are possible year-round.

Which board to choose?

A street skate is best suited for the skatepark: light, manoeuvrable, perfect for the features. Surf skates also work well in the bowl. Longboards are better suited to the bike paths.

Protection

Wearing a helmet is strongly recommended. Pads (knee pads, elbow pads, wrist guards) are essential for beginners. Everything is available at Pickle.

How to get there

Capbreton Skatepark: the complete guide

Capbreton skatepark is located on Boulevard des Cigales, within the municipal sports complex. Inaugurated in its current form in late 2020 as part of the Pôle Acrobaties et Sports Urbains, it represents a €2.5 million investment funded by the MACS intermunicipal authority, the Landes Department and the City of Capbreton.

With its 2,200 m² surface area, the park is rated Level B by the French Roller & Skateboard Federation and was selected as one of 7 national sites to host Olympic delegations and the world's top skateboard athletes.

The bowl (550 m², 400 m² covered) is clover-shaped with 4 coping heights (170, 200, 210 and 220 cm). The outdoor bowl adds 2 heights (140 and 200 cm). The street zone (1,650 m², 500 m² covered) features 6 curbs, 8 ledges, 2 flat rails, 1 handrail, 7 banks, 5 stair sections and 3 manual pads.

Access is free, 24/7. The covered areas (approx. 900 m²) are lit, allowing evening and rainy-day sessions. Wearing a helmet and pads is strongly recommended.

Pickle Skate & Bike is the closest shop to the skatepark: skateboard rental from €4/2h (street, longboard, surf skate), helmet and pads available. We'll recommend the right board for your level and can even deliver it directly to the park.
